Location: Scotia N.Y. | Hold on to your hats folks, Oliva done got this one right!! A nice chocolate brown wrapper that was just beautiful to look at. This stick was solid from head to foot, but the draw was perfect! At first the smoke was a little on the Skimpy side, mostly, I think, due to the shape of the cigar, but once the whole foot was lit, this bad boy produced tons of spicy balanced smoke! Burn was damn near perfect all the way down to my burning lips. Ran off in just a couple of spots, but soon corrected itself with no touch ups I found spice, coco, coffee and rich earthy flavors throughout. I'm going to pick up another this weekend, and plan on doing a video review on it, so stay tuned! |

Location: i've moved so many times i have no idea anymore!! | hey smokem.....had a chance to try one of these bad boys a few weeks back at an event here sponsored by tobacco world in ft. lauderdale. cbw and i were at the event.....they gave away free samples of the robustos....but those beautiful figurados did catch our eye and charles was nice enough to treat me to one. for those of you who have never seen one tom is right...they are gorgeous cigars....that will definitely catch your eye as a result of their obvious quality. here's what they look like: | 6 x 60 Special V Figurado 24/box |

as for the quality of the smoke....perhaps they needed a bit more time....but both charles and i were both of the opinion that this cigar is kinda like a purty girlie who don't put out. the promise of sheer bliss is there.....but the actual performance turns out to be lacking. in the case of this cigar....with a beautiful cammy wrapper surrounding quality tobacco we just expected a flavor explosion. what we found in this smoke was a basic straightforward smoke that left both of us kinda saying...."eh......." wanted to love this one.....but ended up just liking it......for about 8 bucks a stick give or take depending on where you got it....i know i felt like it was worth about $5.....so while it isn't terrible.....i believe this cigar is slightly overpriced for what it delivers. |

Location: Philadelphia | not sure if any of you have noticed the slight changes in the V boxes over the past few months or the odd gaps in being backordered, but I'd bet the farm that this cigars blend has changes at least three times since it's conception to now. As per usual, after the high reviews and the top 25 list, they started selling out immediately, but bit by bit everybody seems to agree that it's a different blend. |

You're right Sam, and to be honest, I don't like the new ones at all. |

Location: Philadelphia | from what I've heard through grapevine telegraph, (preface, there are two different Olivas, one is a tobacco farmer, one is a cigar manufacturer, no relation) Oliva A sued Oliva B, and now Oliva A has to find his tobacco elsewhere, and the blend in the V's as they exist now, are in fact a completley different blend. |
